It you cut them around as if skinning game and remove the valve you can use the whole thing like bungee cord or tie downs. Trim to length or width for whatever you need.

I put BLO and engine oil on opposite sides of my new Warwood Perfect Axe handle. The engine oil soaks in slower and leaves the surface smoother than the BLO side.

Put it round a Zippo, Gas can't evaporate as fast or a gas handwarmer so you can prefill it fer later use.

Hikers and backpackers are definitely not the same thing. I enjoy hiking. Backpacking can be fun, but there's generally enough pain involved that I'd rather go hiking. Yes, I realize I'm basically calling myself a wimp 😎

Was just watching an episode of outlander where everyone was non plus about the invention of matches because lighting with flint&steel was easy enough. Arriving to a cold dark house and having to do this sounds exhausting. But cool skill to have. I need to make up some char next time the grill is running.

Back in the day when I was backpacking for 18 months in the Sierras I purchased a tube of Ribbon of Fire at a backpacking store: essentially it was Napalm in a tube. Numerous times when I was at elevations of 9000 feet and caught in a snow storm it essentially saved lives, having the ability to light soaking wet timber along with being frozen I saved numerous individuals from freezing to death. A prime example of something created to cause death and destruction turned inside out. It’s almost impossible to find anymore. I use petroleum jelly and shredded wood chips a pencil sharpener makes. I am thinking about trying white gas drops in petroleum jelly. I never thought I’d say this but Napalm is a great fire starter in frozen wood conditions

Holy crap Batman. Dan did it again. A boatload of handy tips in a 3 minute video with a recycled item. I have what’s left of a wheelbarrow tube in my shed that I’ve cut into many times. I’ll have to stop by the local bicycle shop and see if I can get one of those to add to my toolbox. Keep up the great work.
